It’s not unkempt–it’s wild!

(4/5/19) Look who paid us a visit yesterday: Bunbun-san! Of course, you’re not looking at him; you’re busy judging me for my mess of a back yard. But hey, it’s still early! Besides, had I already mowed the back, our friend wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy the tender seed-tops he loves so much. He’s fun to watch, sitting there munching with his ears ever ready.

He wasn’t the only one I saw yesterday, but he was the only one worth mentioning… Don’t get me started on the Vandals: Nuthurt, the ubiquitous grey squirrel, and that raccoon whose name is not fit to print. Nuthurt had made himself scarce the day before, and I wonder if it had something to do with our Red-shouldered Hawk’s appearance that day…

Today, I’ve a little more news to report: 2 of 3 digital proofs have now been approved. The dust jacket and cover have been finalized. They both look great, but there’s still one tiny issue with the internal text formatting to be cleared up. Once that is addressed (hopefully very soon) I’ll be receiving a physical proof–three years’ work made gloriously manifest.

I can’t wait! Like our backyard friend, I’m hopping with anticipation!
