TOMORROW, you’ll be able to buy the very economical Amazon hardcover version of my book—the one whose cover I meticulously crafted. Advantages: I did this one, so it’s the cool “director’s cut,” and you’ll get it right away and cheaper (five dollars cheaper!). The inside is also in Amazon’s Bookerly font that is really easy on the eyes, and probably even more so for the youngest of readers.  Disadvantage: The internals on this one are all by template and fairly basic; you won’t be seeing any cute flowers breaking up scenes, for example.

ALSO TOMORROW, you’ll be able to go to almost any eBook retailer in the whole world including Apple Books, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. to get my story cheaply on any device you got.

LATER is when my fancy deluxe hardcover will come out. How much later? Not very. Its proof is being printed this week! If you want to see why I’m so excited about this still forthcoming version, head on over to Substack (link below) where I’ve posted a chapter preview. The great thing about this slightly delayed Ingram hardcover version is that it will be distributed worldwide and orderable through bookshops. I’m really excited about it. I’ll continue to keep you posted.

Just a quick update to remind folks that most of the new eBook distributors have now received my second novel. This includes the Hoopla Network. Recall my eBook format was initially only available through Amazon’s Kindle. It still is but no longer participates in their “Unlimited” plan. This good news means folks with eReaders are now free to purchase my book from elsewhere and even check it out for free from Hoopla participating libraries. I’ve updated my front page with links to many of these new outfits, but you can expect to see even more of them in the coming days.

I hope this will expand my readership. It certainly didn’t hurt with A Witch’s Burden.

In other news, remember that I’ll be in Perry next Monday. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone down there again. Please arrange to come if you can. It is, of course, free. As far as a program, I’ve budgeted for less than the designated hour. I’ll be reading two selections from the book that I hope will effectively tease but not spoil the story.

I just heard back from James Gross of the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library. They took a hit, there were a lot of trees down, and they only just got their power back, but he said, thankfully, that everyone’s OK. Even the library is now back open. It was good to hear. And speaking of trees, I even lost one up here in my back yard two counties over!

As a reminder, my speaking engagement in Perry is still on for September 25th. Consult THIS PREVIOUS POST for details.

I’ve got some other news as well. Plant City picked up my book (both, actually) down in Hillsborough County. Patrons of the Bruton Memorial Library can now, like those in Temple Terrace, check out both of my books for free! Yay!

And that’s not all, A Southern Fried Fantasy Adventure Story will soon join my first book, A Witch’s Burden, in wide eBook distribution. That’s right. As of around this September 11th or 12th, eBook fans should start seeing my latest novel populating throughout the various distributors. This includes Barnes & Noble’s Nook, Kobo, the Hoopla library network, and lots of others. Be on the lookout! My eBook will still be available through Amazon as well, just no longer exclusive to their Kindle Unlimited plan.

The Friends of the Taylor County Public Library have invited me back to talk about my new book! I’ll be there for an hour long program beginning at 5:30pm on September 25, 2023. If you live here in the Big Bend or South Georgia, please make plans to attend.

My book is also now available from Thomas County Public Library, and I am grateful for their continuing support as well.

It’s release day! Run—don’t walk—to your favorite bookstore, and if they don’t have my book, they can definitely order it!

Searching online for a thematic picture, I found just the thing—a fox eating a strawberry (credit for same presumably included in the watermark). Isn’t it cute?

Last week, we finally got out of town, and I used the opportunity to distribute some promotional copies of my book. We went to the Strawberry Festival down in Plant City. If you haven’t been, you really should go!
